Commander's Cup

Join us as we host our annual Commanders Cup 
This event will consist of 10 various sport activities: 
Horseshoe | Frisbee 3 Hole Challenge | Tomahawk Throw | Cornhole | Basketball Skill Challenge | Fitness Challenge | Keiser Force Machine | Diving Contest | Department Display | Tug-A-War

 

 Teams are numbered.  Each team will begin at the numbered event which is their team number.  After finishing an event teams will rotate to the next number in sequence.

(All equipment provided – No personal equipment)

 

At the Sportsman’s Complex

1.         Horse Shoes – 20 tosses – Minimum 4 teammates

            Each team throws a total of 40 shoes.

1 point for closest to the stake.  Any shoe must be within one horseshoe-width (measured across the outside of the open end of the shoe) of the stake to be considered for points.

2 points for leaners – a shoe that is on the sand and leaning against the post.  There must be a visible gap from the sand to post to consider a leaner.

3 points for a ringer.  Ringers are worth 3 points each and must completely encircle the stake so the ends can be touched with a straight-edge without touching the stake.

 

At Shocklee Fitness Center

2.         Frisbee 3 Hole Challenge – 4 man team – Teams will be timed.  1 Frisbee used.  1 Team member at a time must hole-out all 3 holes.  Once all 3 holes have been finished the Frisbee must be tossed to the next player to begin.  Team members must all start in the starting circle.  Time starts at the first throw and ends after the last team members Frisbee ends up in the starting circle.

3.         Tomahawk Throw – A total of 10 throws per team.  You must utilize at a minimum of 3   teammates each throwing a minimum of 2 throws each.  The best scores win.  1 practice throw per person.

4.         Cornhole – 20 tosses – Minimum 4 Teammates

Set up 20 feet apart – must not step past the front of the Baggo platform – there will be a designated line participants may not cross.

            Each team tosses 30 bags

            1 point for each bag landing on the board and staying on the board after 4 tosses

            3 points for each bag in the hole

5.         Basketball Skills Challenge – Minimum of 2 Teammates

            This is a timed event.  Time begins at the whistle.

            You must dribble through a set of chairs

            Make a layup at 3 baskets

            Pick up a 2nd ball and dribble both balls to the top of the key at the opposite end of the court

            With one ball you must make a 3 pointer

            With the other ball you must make a Free Throw.  After 1st player finishes the freethrow the 2nd player  will begin the same tasks, starting behind the end line.

            Time ends after the 2nd team member makes his/her freethrow.

6.         Fitness Challenge – 4 team members must participate in at least one of the events 1 – 4

Scoring is by time.  Fastest team wins.  Teammates must tap hands before they can continue on to the next event.

1) 1 Teammate 10 Push-ups

2)  1 Teammate 20 Sit-ups

3)  1 Teammate Tire-Flip - 3 Flips

4)  1 Teammate Farmer’s Walk - 10 Yards and back – you must go around the designated cone and cross the finish line.

5)   All 4 Teammates 100 Yard Sprint for all teammates beginning and finishing behind the start/finish line.

7.         Keiser Force Machine – 4 Teammates

            One at a time each teammate must hit the block a full length.  Team that makes 4 lengths in the             quickest time wins.

8.         Diving – Biggest Splash – 1 Person from each team – 3 attempts off the diving board.  Scores will be       determined by style and splash.

9.         Department Display (Creative representation of your department) Teams will be judged on     creativity, uniqueness, inherent meaning, skill and technique.  Teams may begin their display as soon             as they send in their LOI.  Bring the finished product to Shocklee Fitness Center and the scoring will be            revealed prior to the Tug-A-War.

10.       Tug-A-War – Top 4 teams will compete in a single elimination.  1st place vs 4th place and 2nd place vs 3rd place.  Losers will meet to determine 3rd and 4th place and the winners will meet to determine the points for 1st and 2nd place EVENT POINTS.  These points will be added onto final scoring of all events to determine who wins the overall Commanders’ Cup.

            NO CLEATS – Minimum 4 Teammates - Teams will match the number of teammates on each team.

 

Commander’s Cup Scoring

1st place – 10 points

2nd place – 7 points

3rd place – 5 points

4th place – 3 points

5th place – 2 points

All other teams get 1 point for participating

Ties – Teams tied in any event will all get the same points. There could be 4 teams with 1st place (they all get 1st place points), and points will still be awarded for 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th place.
